Chem 111-Theory questions for Ch2 will be posted on the wiki site. These need to be completed for monday. Today we spent most of the class going over radioactivity. You will need a calculator with a log key for the calucations on half life that we will do tomorrow.

Chem 112-Today will will check our questions from yesterday and our new topic will be dealing with naming binary ionic compounds with roman numerals aka multivalent ions. p 103 has a nice explanation of this. I will also hand out a sheet of polyatomic ions that will help you do # 18 on p 105. p 109-110 #26 and #28 will be assigned as homework. Chem 122 p2-Today we start chapter 11(an entire chapter on enthalpy :) We will go over 4 ways of expressing enthalpy. The assigned questions will be on p 373 1b, 2a,b, 3all, 6a, b. The Evaluation and Synthesis will be assigned for the magnesium burning demonstration-this will be done neatly on loosleaf with proper headings and passed in on thursday. Lastly, we will review the crisscross approach for writing formulas for salts.

We also went over binary ionic naming and writing formulas. For students absent due to the Math competition, please read over p101-102. I assigned p 107 #21 and p 105 # 19 (omit g) Chem 122 p2-Test today Chapter 10 Chem 122 p3-Test today Chapter 10 Chem 111-The mol contract was due today. We also went over Humphrey Davy and Volta and technological developments(p 39-40). A periodic table was passed out to everyone and we went over the first part of the periodic table assignment worksheet. This is to be completed for tomorrow. We then went over separating matter, then p 47 #39 was assigned.
